GHC Activity Report, by J. A. Davis
Every once in a while it occurs that with the fast pace of developments, we
do not take enough time or space to keep our wonderful GHC supporters and even all
of our Steering Committee informed on what is happening at GHC.
We have several balls bouncing including:
- Augusta Riverwalk litigation
- GHC website development
- GHC membership (network) database
- Georgia vs. Atlanta
- Preparations for Campaign 2006
The filing of the lawsuit regarding the Riverwalk violations in
Augusta---this has kept Woody Highsmith and me busy with media interviews and consultation
with our legal team.
It's too early to give a definitive report on any results as we're in a
wait and see pattern. We are anticipating a protracted
legal battle and we need the help and contributions of everyone who can
even send a little. Here is how you can contribute:
Please mail your contribution checks payable to "The Steve Boynton Flag
Defense Fund" to: C/O Woody Highsmith, P.O. BOX 581, Evans, Georgia 30809
OR
You can CLICK HERE to donate online using
PayPal (please indicate "Riverwalk Litigation" in the PayPal note field).
In this regard we want to point out while GHC has taken the lead in
this effort, we have been graciously supported by virtually all of the heritage
community. We're grateful for the help from the Georgia Division SCV,
dozens of SCV camps over the state, The Southern Heritage PAC, The
Southern Party of Georgia, The Georgia Society MOS&B and many
individuals, both in and outside Georgia. Thank you. We need more.
The fight has only begun.
Meanwhile other projects are under way.
Our website continues to soar in viewership and the quality and
originality of the content. It has forged a lead in the
exposure of Lt. Governor candidate Ralph Reed's reported involvement with gambling interests in several states.
Our excellent columnists have scored a niche
in the coverage of illegal immigration in America. Webmaster Steve
Scroggins tries to have an original commentary
each day. He continues to provide some of the best satire, lampoons
and cartoons in Georgia politics.
Internally we have solidified our GHC member database and are
continually adding folks throughout the state who can become volunteers
for the challenges today and in the future. Membership renewals will
begin in August and on the month of anniversary. Some have already
begun to renew without a notice. There will be notices coming for
those who haven't. We've had compliments on our
membership cards and package which costs close to $5 to produce and
mail.
GHC has stayed on top of the Georgia political situation. 2006 will be
an election year, state offices and both houses of the
legislature. Our GHC campaign will take on an interesting role
hopefully in conjunction with other heritage groups.
Interesting because it's payback time as well as a positive campaign for several aspects of the GHC Georgia vs
Atlanta campaign.
To us it is not a Republican or Democratic
choice. It's the elimination of every office seeker who has lied and deceived us in the past. It is FOR those who
are willing to openly commit to our program especially a Fair Vote on the state flag. Those who oppose us need to be
identified. Those who run and hide need to be exposed. Working with other groups we should
set a goal of a minimum of 100,000 yard signs throughout the state
surrounded by a professional public relations and lobbying campaign
with active website updates.
To be successful we'll need several
hundred gents and ladies willing to take on some local chores. With that we
need a statewide communication center and hotline. Just think what that
many yard signs could mean. At least 200,000 active voters that would
go a long way toward retiring all those who have played Political
Correctness with our heritage.
It is time to take the offensive with a well
orchestrated campaign that includes the wisdom and participation of all who genuinely support our stated goals.
Those heritage groups who feel likewise will hopefully fuse with GHC in a jointly
coordinated effort. 2006 will be no time for lone-rangers and turf
protection. We must take the fight to our real enemies and they ain't any of us in the
various heritage organizations.
There are going to be some political upsets in 2006. The people are
restless. The people are disturbed. Look for changes in congress and the state
offices and legislature. Some mistakenly believe voters who have no fancy for
the liberal tendencies of the Democrats will reluctantly vote Republican. Don't believe it. More and more are
saying they're as fed up with the Republican duplicity and special interests sellouts as with the
Democrats leftward posture. It may be payback time in 2006 and again time for changes in 2010 until the
message becomes loud and clear.
Hopefully, this gives you a better insight in what we're doing at GHC.
There's more which we'll try to cover later. In the meantime, if you haven't joined remember for as little as five
bucks a year you can be a full-fledged member. Also please join the
fight in Augusta in the best way you can, with a contribution.
All of the members of our Steering Committee welcome your comments and
suggestions. Feel free to contact us.
