Inaccurate Perceptions, by J. A. Davis
"...all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right
themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object
evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new
Guards for their future security." ---Declaration of Independence
"The current mentality of most Republicans is support the party position regardless of the consequences....
.It's time for a change."
---J.A. Davis
We all hear the expression "perception is reality". Often times it is,
or taken to be.
The fact that perception sometimes masks reality needs to be addressed. How often have you seen circumstantial
evidence completely blown out of the water by more substantial study and exposure?
After all, the world is flat, isn't it?
Since the thirties a little-publicized industry working under the
auspices of the Marxist Frankfort Institute has been developing perceptions that little
by little---- incrementally---- have been introduced and accepted as reality. Some call
it political correctness. The reality is that it's much more destructive than most believe.
One of their main targets has been breaking down the precepts and common beliefs about
a Republic conceived by The Founders of America by gradually degrading and discrediting those who founded our nation and little by little
encouraging Commutarian replacements for Constitutional authority and especially The Bill of Rights. You might know them as the first ten
amendments which are gradually being ignored or illegally being replaced without proper procedure.
They rely on a great passion for simplicity in America by a people who
have less and less regard for real history. People who willingly accept
a simple perception of a complex real issue are their trophies.
The main weapon in their arsenal is the ability to convince people to
judge and evaluate events in history in the context of today's worldview. A good
example might be that today Americans believe slavery is a unacceptable
idea. Yet without a time capsule to take us to the past, slavery was very much an accepted practice in all
sections of the U. S., from the beginning. It was legal and without question the institution that propelled Northern
states to great prosperity, while similarly providing labor for the more agrarian South.
The perception is that only the South should be guilty of what in reality was legally practiced
throughout the country.
The effort to promote the perception that
the War Between the States was fought over slavery is another example of taking the lazy pursuit of history without the benefit of myriad reality
readily available.
This invalid perception has developed an industry of racial profiteers who rob
the populace of reality the same as a thief in the night. They do more damage in dividing the people and creating racial tensions
that wouldn't exist but for professional agitation for selfish material gain.
These purveyors of division and hate are aided and abetted by selfish politicans who pander to their whims. We
see it at all levels of politics. On the local level where places like Suffolk, Virginia, the local politicians were falsely misled into
refusing to issue a proclamation for Confederate History and Heritage. Everyone who voted against the proclamation was overwhelmingly defeated
in the recent elections. It was a case of reality overtaking bigoted perceptions.
The same is true of higher level politics. Recent polls show Republican candidates
in trouble all over the country in what could be one of the biggest political turn-arounds in modern history (Nov. 2006). One of the reasons is the
arrogance and ignorance of the Republican National Chairman, Ken Mehlman, who has a perception that he can win by
pandering for minority votes by criticizing the base of his own party as being racially inclined as in The Southern Strategy which has
continually guaranteed Republican victories since the sixties.
As one involved in the original Southern Strategy for the GOP, I know
Mehlman is nothing more than a tragedy brought about by a ill-conceived perception which is totally out of touch with reality.
Conservatives, not just southerners, are abandoning the good work of many good patriotic Americans who worked so hard to bring harmony and equality in
our everyday lives. Mehlman has dismissed the South and the efforts of Southern conservatives (all colors) based on his false perceptions and the unrealistic expectation
that Republicans can ignore their base and still win.
So you see, perception is not always reality. Watch for the
politicians in your own area who will sell out the opportunities for all the people by
pandering to special interests of the few. Expose them for promoting division and
perceptions that are alien to the American way. Above all, insist on equal protection
under the law. That is reality.
True Southern Constitutionalists demonstrate their convictions and beliefs by standing up for them
and ACTING on them. Take the lip-service "conservatives" with a large grain of salt and observe what they DO. Vote them out accordingly. It's encouraging to see the Georgians
rejected the lip-service of Ralph Reed, focusing instead on what he actually DOES.
The pendulum swings.
