Perdue's Advisors Stumble Again Revealing Root Problem, by J. A. Davis
By now you've heard of the politically correct news release concerning
the Georgia state HOLIDAY tree to be officially illuminated by Governor
Perdue.
In fairness, the news release was withdrawn and replaced with one which
changed HOLIDAY to CHRISTMAS. An
effort was made by the spokesman to make light of the original release.
Let's be clear. I don't think the governor
had an inkling of what was going on with
his staff. In fact, like me, I expect he is
furious.
That is the problem. The Perdue staff and
advisors have pulled one bonehead foible
after another, often preparing or advising
public policy statements representing the
governor that have little in common with the hearts and minds of
Georgians.
While the governor can claim no knowledge of some of the public
relations errors his staff makes, he cannot absolve
himself from their obvious desire to create
a cultural change in order to appease a small minority of people.
After all, he approved their appointments.
Considering the information at hand one has to wonder how the governor
got himself involved with these social engineers who seem to be totally
out of touch with the real Georgia. One might wonder if they're really
Georgians at all.
Perhaps they are 'Georgians of the Atlanta
mentality' which have floated to the top of the
Perdue administration. It would be easy to draw a correlation between
the Perdue staff and the downtown Atlanta business
elite which has influenced the Perdue administration as it did the
Barnes administration before it. The Metro Atlanta Chamber bragged about its Perdue influence on their website and elsewhere.
In trying to understand how these folks think, we must consider their
daily communication is mostly with people who think differently than most of us ole time
Constitutional conservative Georgians. They work hard to impress their
peers with how they're in tune with a whole new Georgia born of
multiculuralism and political correctness which, to many of us, is
nothing but code talk for Socialism. A Georgia State holiday tree is but a
hint of the evidence.
These are the same folks who developed
the biggest hoax perpetrated by the Perdue administration, the phony
flag referendum. You remember, the violation of the Perdue promise to
have a fair vote on the state flag and then eliminated any
consideration of the 1956 flag leaving no choice at all.
They first advised that he never claimed to include the '56 flag, which
only added insult to injury because the people
knew better and voted for him because he
plainly specified the turmoil created by Governor Barnes when he
changed the flag.
After being elected Governor, Perdue said
the flag issue was not high on his priority
list and blamed the media for creating it as an issue. Who did his
mental marvels think would buy this betrayal of the truth?
These out-of-touch staffers developed another Perdue disaster,
specifically trying to convince the public that an overwhelming
majority of Georgians supported the selected flag of the administration.
They underestimate the intelligence of Georgia voters. The
overwhelming majority equalled something like 15% of
the registered voters and the people know it. Why do they know it?
Because 4 out of 5 registered voters refused to participate in a rigged
referendum.
People voted with their feet. Unless there
is some remediation in the coming legislative session toward giving the
people a fair up or down vote (as the Republicans in Washington keep
insisting on for judicial nominees), it is highly likely
there will be a lot of former Perdue supporters with antsy feet in the
upcoming gubernatorial election.
So, to all of the political correctees in the
Perdue administration, from those of us who celebrate Christmas, we wish to
grant your fondest wish, a lot of holidays beginning in 2007. To be fair
about it, we also extend the same greeting to the PC enablers in the
General Assembly---from both parties.
For those who may take my Christmas wish list lightly, I would remind
you that the combined organizations representing
Georgia's heritage community, had a significant impact in the 2002
elections. The support for Mr. Perdue, the defeat of
Governor Barnes, Speaker Murphy, and about a dozen and a half targeted legislators who were either retired
or defeated. You might say the 2002 election was a state-wide referendum FOR a Fair Vote.
We cordially invite those who believe in the values we at GHC do, to
join our organization and be part of the team that
will continue to stand up and speak up for
the real Georgia we all love. We need every single Georgian in every
single county for the impending battle ahead. You can be the
difference.
