THE POLL HUCKSTERS – Commentary by Jim Dean
Webmaster's Note: This commentary concerns a Talon News report on the GOPUSA.com website;
the link to that story is below.
One of the growing grass roots heritage issues that the GHC sees emerging is voter revulsion at the outrageous attempts to manipulate them with bogus polls. This is a huge business where numerous political lounge lizards make substantial incomes huckstering our electoral process. The mass media is often a co-conspirator in this "pick your poll" circus. The Howard Dean debacle in Iowa is just the latest example of this fraud.
Although the article linked below is about the Democratic version of this dishonest process, the Republicans also have their own stable of lounge lizards. Instead of a James Carville and Stanley Greenberg, they farm their disinformation campaigns out to the Chambers of Commerce and Big Business spinmeisters. This article is one of the best I have seen detailing exactly how the scam works. I advise that you take a TUMS before reading it though. It is going to make you very angry.
Our sources have told us of a $2 million pro-Perdue-flag campaign to be funded by none other than the Atlanta carpetbagger lobby. The Republicans are too stupid to understand the negative backlash this will trigger. Even native born Republicans fall under the siren songs of their own poll hucksters.
Legislators and Congresscritters are going to be hearing a lot about issues like this in the coming election cycle. The voters are waking up and catching on to the games they play on them, and they don't like it. The GHC is going to do all that we can to teach grass roots Georgians how to make their unhappiness intimately known to their representatives. The politicians can take their big lobby money, but the people can hound them at their public events for selling their constituents out to special interests. It will be a good fight.
The earth is moving. Most of the politicians are in denial, thinking the voters are much too apathetic to get off their whiney butts and really oppose "the way it has always been done." They will have to see it to believe it. Roy Barnes and Tom Murphy already know, along with a host of other ex legislators who thought that Georgia heritage was nothing more than a gaming chit to trade off in a back room deal for big business contributions or a handful of minority votes.
We will have to be good "teachers" to educate them. Please join us. It is not fair that we have all the fun.
