Confederate Battle Flags in Europe, Russia – Commentary by Steve Scroggins
In response to my recent rebuttal commentary (Nevin's Nonsense), a kind reader sent me
a brief note and some photos he had.
Dr. Peters was responding specifically to my statement that Confederate flags are flown around the world
to denote defiance against tyranny, opposition to centralized government power, etc. His note is posted below (with permission)
along with several photos he provided from Vladivostok, Russia.

Hello Steve:
I just read your article "Rebuttal to Nevin's Nonsense on Southern Flag" and your
statements concerning the battle flag's use around the world.
Last week I was in Vladivostok walking up the street to my hotel with a Russian friend
when 'lo and behold I spied a car sitting there with a battle flag upon its hood. My friend took a picture of me
with it, which I have attached. I have also seen battle flags in Moscow and Krasnodar, Russia.
One of the reasons for this in Russia is that St. Andrew is patron saint of Russia and
the red flag with a blue St. Andrew's cross is used as a naval ensign. I usually take a number of battle flags and
hand them out to Russian friends and acquaintances who rush to get them.

Below are a few pix found on the web showing Confederate flags in Germany, Quebec, and on Ebay. At some point
in the future, I'd like to put together a commentary with photos showing a nice collection of Confederate flags around
the world. In the past I know I've seen them in Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil and elsewhere in South America and of course
