GOP Cannibalism: The Invasion of the Puppetmasters – Commentary by Steve Scroggins
What's going on with the Republican Party? There seems to be some unwarranted desperation in their behavior.
A number of events and activities have converged on this point in time, so I wanted our readers to see them all together
as part of a pattern. From these things, what conclusions can we reach?
A story appeared on the GOPUSA.com website which struck us as insane. It appears the Illinois Republicans are trying to hire a mercenary
to run as a U.S. Senator for Illinois. [ See the story here. AND HERE.]
The Illinois Republicans were trying to induce Alan Keyes---a Maryland resident!!!--- to run
for U.S. Senate in Illinois. Today's news (links above) indicates that Keyes has agreed to run. I suppose the rationale is that "if it's good enough to Hillary to be a Senator for New York...."
Many of us LONG AGO
reached the conclusion that the Republicans are no longer the Party of Principle, but they seem Hell-bent to prove it over and over. I don't mean all
Republicans...obviously, many dislike the reprehensible actions of the few incorrigibles...but it leaves one to wonder about the leadership at the top.
Obviously, the Republican top brass saw Obama speak at the Democratic National Bush-Bashing Festival, and what they saw made them tremble
with fear. There's already talk of Hillary and Obama in 2008. So the Repub brass is desperate to knock Obama off his feet before he grows too large. Enter
Alan Keyes. I'm not sure we have that much to fear in Obama. Samuel Francis already compared Obama to Al Sharpton.
As several GHC folks were discussing the Alan Keyes story, we were reminded of the many GOP drones being foisted on the Southern states.
In the race for U.S. Congress 8th District we have one Dylan Glenn. He's a creature of the Republican National Committee having service
with Jack Kemp (one of the top ten most anti-Southern bigots and Lincoln-lovers in the GOP), George Bush and Sonny Perdue on his resume. GHC endorsed
Lynn Westmoreland. The party brass is pushing their man, their puppet Dylan Glenn. [ Dylan Glenn Campaign Poster ]
Proof, you ask? Well...just look at the source of his campaign cash. Mike Crane documents on the Southern Party of Georgia website (with
sources cited on the site) the fact that Dylan Glenn is getting 70% (that's seven dollars of every ten folks!!) from sources OUTSIDE GEORGIA. New York, Connecticut and Texas top
the list of state sources for his campaign money. Why do these New York and Texas folks CARE who "represents" Georgia's 8th House District? One wonders just WHO will really be represented.
Clearly, the Republican big brass REALLY wants THEIR MAN in this Georgia 8th District seat in the U.S. Congress; they're throwing big money at it.
They were also sponsoring similar GOP puppets in North Carolina and Mississippi, though we understand that the North Carolina candidate
has had a falling out with the neocon brass.
The GOP establishment poured out the money in support of their Isakson puppet, defeating a quality man, Mac Collins. They also defeated another Trojan Horse
troublemaker by the name of Herman Cain. What he says sounds good (in that Clintonesque way), but watch who supports him and who puts money in his coffers. Cain will be back to run for office,
and we will haunt him with the facts every time.
Another example of Republican Cannibalism came in last night. Apprarently, they are desperate to win the Georgia Senate seat in the 50th District,
and they've lauched a last-minute smear campaign on Nancy Schaefer in an effort to steal the seat in the August 10 Republican Runoff. Jeff Davis has issued a press
release for GHC condemning these smear ads. GHC stands by its endorsement of Schaefer.
Is dirty politics just becoming the standard for both parties? Or is the GOP really getting desperate? Is there a purge going on to remove everyone who won't put Party before Principle?
It seems to me that the line between the Republicans and the Democrats grows more and more blurred as time passes by. The Repubs play just as dirty.
Some of the real partisan Repubs would probably argue that they're not dirty enough.
Bush has shown that he can outspend the Democrats. Bush has shown that he can pander to certain groups with the best of the Democrats. Bush has shown
that he will not touch the illegal immigration issue---even to stop an invasion!!----just like the Democrats. Both parties are showing that they will do anything,
I mean ANYTHING!-----to hold on to their power and try to grab more.
As George Wallace pointed out, there really isn't a "dime's worth of difference."
Though I'm not generally a cynic, I think cynic H.L. Mencken said it best: "...one party always devotes its chief
energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right." ~~H.L. Mencken, 1956
Do your part to make sure the party hacks and puppets are defeated. Vote for Lynn Westmoreland and Nancy Schaefer in the August 10 Runoffs.
