Widespread Lawmaker Arrogance – Commentary by Steve Scroggins
Events in Georgia since 2001 have left little doubt for the people of Georgia. Our lawmakers are the pawns of various special interests
and they have more interest in representing them than in representing the people. The elitist attitude and the contempt for the opinions of the vast majority of Georgians is apparent.
Without re-hashing all the details, the Georgia legislature knows that a majority of Georgians favored the 1956 flag over any other contender. Yet, they allowed themselves to be bribed, extorted and coerced
into making an unpopular change in 2001. Voter backlash removed a governor, a House speaker and number of others implicated in the flag theft.
The money changers of the Dome, the Chambers of Commerce wasted no time in buying the services of the new regime that took over after the voters removed the first batch of sellouts. In 2003, the money changed hands and
Sonny Perdue became Perdue the LIAR. The people were denied their chance to vote on the flag, the chance they were PROMISED in no uncertain terms.
In 2004, the LIAR and his cohorts are clinging to their payoffs and claiming that they didn't lie. The insulting referendum held March 2nd this year has instilled the people with more anger. Once again, the people were reminded that
their representatives in Atlanta don't really represent them, the people, but instead they represent the Chamber of Commerce and the other monied interests of Atlanta and elsewhere.
In a recent column I mentioned TERM LIMITS and suggested that implementing them is like asking a bunch of chickens to vote for Colonel Sanders. The link below is a story of one hero from Wyoming. They are fighting a similar battle in Wyoming to convince the elitists in Cheyenne that the People of Wyoming
are in charge and that the the legislators are the servants---NOT the masters.
Georgians don't have a direct referendum mechanism and getting a constitutional amendment to implement one will be as difficult to pass as getting a term limits amendment.
But difficulty and hardship will not deter us. Georgians still have the rugged individualist spirit that animates Mr. Jack Adsit of Wyoming.
We don't have Term Limits in Georgia. Yet. But in the meantime, TurnCoat Season is opening soon. We can start implementing Term Limits by
voting out incumbent TurnCoats.
Our so-called representatives have sold out, folks. The Downtown Atlanta cartel owns them. The war between downtown Atlanta and the rest of Georgia has already begun. The only problem is that many of the people of Georgia just haven't recognized it yet.
The first step to remove some of the teeth of our Downtown Atlanta adversaries is to remove their puppets under the Dome. The next step is waking up the rest of Georgia and letting them know that there's a war on. You'll be hearing more on that soon. In the meantime, let's work on
getting rid of some LegisTraitors and TurnCoats who treat the people with contempt. Let's get started.
